We've known Tatay Felix through our friends Joel and Cathy Saladaga. He is Cathy's dad. He had been a widower since her wife died 5 years ago. When Joel and Cathy's family was still here in the Philippines, before they migrated in Canada, we would always pray with them that Tatay Felix would find someone to be with since he would be left alone in their house in Rizal. Before the Saladaga's left for Canada, an answered prayer was blessed upon Tatay Felix... he found Nanay Tessie.
Nanay Tessie is a well-known dressmaker in Rizal and she had known Tatay Felix even before his first wife died. She even attended her wake and burial. But they didn't know each other personally. They didn't even had any conversations before. Nanay Tessie at her age , hadn't been married. She hadn't had time for her personal life for taking care and providing for her nephews and nieces. Upon talking to her during their wedding preps, she told us that she had been praying for someone to spend her life with because she doesn't want to be alone.
Then a common friend of Tatay Felix and Nanay Tessie introduced them and they fell in love with each other. They are both Christians and both have a strong relationship with our Lord that's why God made His way to bring these two lovely souls together.
When Joel and Cathy asked us to do makeup and photo for the wedding, we wholeheartedly accepted, for we are personally happy for Tatay Felix, Nanay Tessie and the whole family.
The ceremony was simple but it is full of love, joy and hope not only to the couple but even to us, the family and the guests.
He is 69 and she is 65. Age really doesn't matter when it is true love especially through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
To Tatay Felix and Nanay Tessie, it was an honor for us to be part and witnesses of your journey. May you continue to be happy in each others arms. God bless your union.
